End of Album One

December 5, 2016

So some of you might be thinking, “Hey, Ryan, what the hell is an ‘Album’?  What are you doing?  Where are my sharks?  What is this bullfish?”

Well an “Album” is what I’m calling each year of comics from now on.  Think of an “Album” like you would a season of a TV show or a volume of a book.  It’s like an album of photos or an album of music.  Eventually I would like to make books of these comics and each album will make one book.  Which made sense in my mind because each comic reminded me of a page of photos.

Also the story I want to tell with Ellory has specific chapters in my mind.  There are big events that will set the tone for certain years of her life and I wanted each album to be distinct.  Kevin’s confession and her mother’s life will be a huge focus of the second album.  I have a rough idea of when Ellory’s story will end and these moments will steadily lead up to it.

And I want some time off.  I mean, come on, it’s the holidays.  So the last month of every year is going to be my hiatus month.  I’ll use that time to gather my thoughts for next year and to play the incredible backlog of video games I haven’t gotten around to.  I really want to finish Life is Strange.  It’s a pretty good story once you get into it.  Also, Dishonored 2.  And also Pokémon Sun.  And Doom maybe.  Shit, I haven’t even finished The Last of Us.

If any of you have any questions just let me know and I’ll be more than happy to answer them.  I also have an AMA going on in the Ellory subreddit.

In short, comics will resume in January, things are about to go crazy, and I love all of you.

Okay, later.
